Sports First Aid Training Course Summary:

This course has been designed to enable candidates to be able to deal effectively with a medical emergency until the arrival of a qualified first aider or emergency services. It focuses on the typical injuries likely to occur during sporting activities.

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for anybody involved in sporting activities. This course is highly popular with clubs such as Karate, Football & Hockey etc. More recently Zumba and other Keep Fit classes have been booking this course.

Our Sports First Aid Training Course equips learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively identify sporting medical incidents within a sports setting until trained assistance arrives. This training aims to equip delegates with the information during the most critical moments of a sports-related injury. You will gain knowledge on how to treat typical injuries that arise on the sports field, gym or outdoor activities, ranging from sprains, strains and fractures, to CPR, heart attacks and controlling bleeding and bandaging.   • C P R Adult and Child 
  • Care of the unconscious casualty: Adult and Child
  • Choking: Adult and Child       
  • Heart Attacks
  • Shock/Fainting     
  • Control of Bleeding/Bandaging
  • Recognition & Management of Fractures
  • Recognition & Management of Sprains & Strains
  • Recognition & Management of Spinal Injuries
  • Recognition & Management of Head Injuries          

Sports First Aid Certificate

Successful candidates will be awarded the FRFA Level 1 Sports Injury First Aid certificate valid for 3 years

Sports First Aid Training Awarding Body

The accreditation is provided by First Response First Aid Ltd in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Duration: half-day (4 hours)

Assessment: Continuous assessment and Practical Activities

Prerequisite: None

Suggested progression:

  • Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Level 3 First Aid at Work
  • Annual Refresher
  • Requalification training every 3 years
